These settings will affect ALL user profiles. Here, you can add a non-standard port to watch or change the method of capture for a particular type of chat.
Change only the settings you're sure you understand, so that recording is not compromised. If you do need to make changes to System Settings, close all applications and log off all users to ensure that any new settings will take effect when you save port chat place click OK and exit the Viewer. Next to each protocol is a list of ports commonly used for communication, where Workplace Monitor watches for activity.
Watch recorded Network Activity programs and ports to see if any new ports are being used.
Plrt the non-standard port to the list of ports. Type a space after the last and type the port. Do not delete a port unless problems occur on the network.
Plce default settings provide nearly complete coverage. You would change the level of capture to disable types of chat or to attempt to capture encrypted or unusual forms of chat. Use the drop-down list to select a recording method: Low-Level - Low-level record directly captures the communication by using the standard protocol.
Low-level recording is preferable because it does not depend on the application version where chat takes place, but it cannot capture encrypted communication or non-standard protocols. High-Level - High-level record "scrapes" the conversations directly from the application window. The high-level method is most useful for recording communication that is encrypted or uses custom protocols, such as Windows Messenger configured for a Microsoft Exchange.
Auto - Auto record allows Workplace Monitor to determine whether to use low- or high-Level recording. Usually, Workplace Monitor detects a conversation using the low-level method first.
If the protocol detected is not monitored by Workplace Monitoror the communication pprt encrypted, Workplace Monitor uses the High-Level protocol. If you do not want to capture any one of them, click to remove the check mark.
To enable a time stamp: Check Enable Time Stamp if you want to add a time stamp to each line of the conversation when Low-level capture is used.
